QUESTION: How does UE PA linearity limit the 'real' U/L datarate? If the UE had a more linear PA (but still low current), could higher order modulations be used (i.e. 64QAM vs QPSK) to achieve better throughput and range? Also, is open loop or closed loop MIMO going to be implemented in early LTE products?

ANSWER: both open loop and closed loop will be available in early LTE products. To go to 64QAM one would require a new modulator as well which i believe would be a hardware change. Also there will be much higher current draw and heat dissipation
