GSM/GPRS stack Development, Samsung, India (1998-1999)
Position:
Software Engineer - Testing and enhancement GSM/GPRS software
Project
Brief:
Project involves understanding the
existing software architecture for GSM/GPRS and re-engineering or enhancing
most of it specially the layer 2. Project also involved the integration and
testing of the enhanced software.
Role:
UMTS stack development, Samsung, India (199-2001)
Position:
Software Engineer – Specification study, High
level and low level design, Coding, Integration and Testing.
Project
Brief:
The project involved the complete UE stack development for UMTS
based on the current 3GPP specifications. However the NAS component was used
from the already existing GPRS code with some enhancement based on the UMTS
requirement. The development included the design and development of URRC, URLC,
UMAC and UPHY using the SDL tool and C language.
Role:
TETRA
Protocol Stack development, IFR
systems, UK (2001-2002)
Position:
Design Engineer – Specification study, design, implementation and testing of the LLC and MAC module.
Project
Brief:
The project involved the design, implementation and testing of the
base station specific TETRA protocol stack. The software was developed for the
IFR’s TETRA test unit which is used for testing the TETRA user equipments.
Telelogic SDL tool was used for the software development, compilation and code
generation. Host testing was also carried out using SDL tool.
Role:
Designed,
implemented and tested LLC and MAC for TETRA using the SDL tool.
Dual
Mode UE stack development, Samsung UK (2002-2003)
Position:
Senior software engineer 1- Complete Software Development Cycle.
Project
Brief:
The project involved the complete dual mode UE stack development for
UMTS and GSM/GPRS based on the current 3GPP specifications. The development
included the design and development of all the UMTS layers and GSM/GPRS layers
C and C++ language.
Role:
NEC/Nokia RAN Enhancement, Upgrade and Maintenance, Hutchison 3, UK (2005-2006)
Position:
Senior Consultant – UTRAN design, optimization and testing
Project
Brief:
Project involved enhancement,
upgrade and the regression testing of the NEC/Nokia Node B and RNC. Upgrade of
Node B and RNC involve latest version of software, new hardware components or
cards. After the upgrade the project involve the regression testing of the Node
B and RNC according to the Hutchison 3’s agreed test plans.
Role:
1. In case of test failure during the regression testing analyse the network and UE logs and raise the defect on UE (vendors) or RAN (NEC or Nokia) through mercury test director.
2. Follow the defect raised and get the fix from the corresponding source and retest the fix. Close the defect if the fix passes the particular test case.
